About Calibre Props
A qualified drone pilot business providing professional aerial building inspections and inspection data capture across the Midlands and South East.
What Calibre Props does
Calibre Props carries out drone inspections of buildings and hard-to-access assets for commercial and institutional clients across the Midlands and South East. The work focuses on collecting clear, useful thermal and visual aerial data that supports building condition assessment, maintenance planning, and inspection reporting.
We work alongside surveyors, consultants, and facilities teams — providing the aerial imagery they need to carry out assessments and support their reporting, not attempting to replace their professional judgement.
Calibre Props operates as an independent drone inspection business. We are not affiliated with any analytics platform, building condition report provider, or technology partner. The service we deliver is our own.
Qualifications and certifications
All operations are carried out by a fully qualified, insured drone pilot. We hold the relevant UK CAA certifications for commercial drone operations.
Civil Aviation Authority Certificate of Competency for advanced drone operations in close proximity to people and buildings.
General Visual Line of Sight Certificate for commercial drone piloting across a range of operational scenarios.
Comprehensive public liability and professional indemnity insurance for commercial drone operations.
Experience and working practices
We have experience collecting structured drone data for inspection-related workflows, including use of specialist mission planning tools such as Hammer Missions for systematic, repeatable data capture. This means inspections are planned methodically rather than carried out on an ad hoc basis.
The drone equipment we operate is suited to inspection work — capable of capturing high-resolution visual imagery and thermal data in the conditions relevant to building assessment. We work within the operational limits of the equipment and do not promise outputs we cannot reliably deliver.
We focus on commercial and institutional clients — property owners, facilities teams, surveyors, consultants, healthcare estates, housing providers, and similar organisations. We do not pursue generic drone photography, events, or consumer-facing work.
Our approach
The way we work reflects three consistent priorities.
Practical focus on useful data
The objective of every inspection is to collect imagery and data that is genuinely useful — organised, clear, and ready for the client or their surveyor to work with. We do not deliver large volumes of unstructured imagery and leave clients to make sense of it.
Honest about scope and capability
We are clear about what drone inspection can and cannot tell you. Aerial imagery can highlight areas of concern and support assessment — it does not replace the judgement of a qualified surveyor or structural engineer. We avoid overclaiming.
Safe, professional operations
All operations are planned and conducted in line with CAA regulations and best practice. We carry out thorough pre-flight planning, operate appropriate equipment, and take responsibility for safe and professional delivery on every site.
Coverage
We cover the Midlands and South East of England for commercial inspection work. If you are based in these regions and have a building inspection requirement, get in touch and we can discuss whether and how we can help.
